Question:I really want to play Penny Pingleton in Hairspray. How would I find out about auditions or to get on the show? Anybody out there who was in Hairspray or a show on Broadway with any good tips?

Well, there's always the Entertainment Industry Expo that just began last summer. Twice a year in NYC, folks in the entertainment industry get together. It's free to attend. I know that auditions were held at the last one, although I don't much about that. It's unlikely you'd be cast without a lot of experience anyway.
Tips? Well, you should probably have your Equity card, which can be a ton of work. The show is dance heavy, so you should have some skills as a dancer.
