Will schools let outsiders rent out space?

Usually they do. I have known people to rent auditoriums and theatres in schools and colleges many, many times.

Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't - it depends on that it's for (nonprofit or for profit, etc.) Most school districts have different policies...
you'll just have to call and ask the facilities dept.

Most high schools do, but it can be pretty pricey sometimes.
