How long are musicians typically on tour?

Question:i know they travel alot but for usually how long?
do they get a break? like actors??
i know actors are busy too but they usually shoot a movie for months at a time only
do musicians get off?

well i know that i was on th road for over 3 1/2 years of course i was with two different bands did 2 years with the first one and imediatly went 1 1/2 years with another with literraly 2 weeks in between the only time i was home in that time frame other than the 2 weeks was for holidays like xmas and new yearsit is a very grueling thing to do..yes the money is GREAT!!!!! but the lifestyle gets old fast.....the first 3 months or so you love it the typacle rock and roll life you know sex drugs rock and roll...that all holds true but after about 6 months you get very tired of it after 1 year your ready to quit after 2 years you swear youll never do it again and after 3 1/2 years you never do and i never have that was in the 1980's and i have never gone on the road again now i work as a studio musician and love it regular hours..well sort of anyway...lol great pay and no road compleete anonimity too its easier to eat out and go to movies and things like that with nobody screaming and asking for stuff its a great thing to experaince once but trust me once us enough....

It really depends on the tour. It is usually up to the musician to decide when to tour and when to take a break.
