Question:this has been my dream my whole life, I am only 10 years old and I live in masachusetts. Should I audition for the school musical? PLZ HELP!!

Im the same as you, im twelve years old and i really want to be a dancer or an actress...
i would audition for that musical!!
what i do is i go to many dancing classes and acting classes.
i have done many exams, and when i grow up i want to go to university and study dancing and acting.
The thing is you have to be made for these things, you have to be born with the talent.
If your good at it and you like it then go for it girl and you'll make it some day!

Many wants to be a singer/actress, and not just that, but also a Superstar! The way to become one is to audition through any ways - meeting up with a celebrity of the related field, talent shows, reality shows (like Superstar Idol), etc.

10 years old needs to attend music schools like "The Royal School of Music" and You need to learn how to read notes in order to sing the right pitch correctly. Without learning music notes like what is a treble clef and what is a bass clef, what is semi-quaver, what is rest, what is semi-breeve, what is staccato, what is cresendo, etc... etc....a lot of memory work on what has to be done, human memory has limits without understanding the basic theories and reading and dictation of composed music and understand how to apply theories into practicality like singing in international music, one should be considered a world class singer, in the world of professional artiste and singers. Since you are 10 years old go for school and join music tuitions, or join societies in school and find the right music and performing arts course, look for a registered recording/children movie production company when you are confident enough to read notes, not memorising it. Acting should be easier for children, when they know how to read scripts in English language, Children who have played Pictionary before will know simple mime acting for children, as languages expand, the sesame street children TV programme made in USA for example is a good start for children who loves decent educational acting

Of course you should audition for the school musical, take every opportunity to audition for plays or musicals. Have your parents check the local theatres in your area for acting or singing classes and auditions. Just keep pursuing your dream, and someday you will get there.

okay. it annoys me to death that you think because someone tells you something on yahoo answers you can go out and be an actor. get in line with the peopl that actually work for fame.
