i've seen blood bothers more time than i can remember, it's a haunting, sad and funny show i think this is partly down to the writer willy russell and the performers themselves as the person before me says there are no side by side scenes, they just follow the script and the directions they are given by the directors. i think that the use of the lighting in the show also sets the mood as the sets work well without being to over the top.
my fave mrs j is lyn paul and my fave narrator is keith burns both of them when i see this show appear to but their heart and sole into it and lyn very often cries durning some scene and keith as the narrator is very meanacing.
but i think also what makes the so work so well is adults playing all the parts and a small cast.
i hope this helps a little even though i don't think it's what you asked

Hi Lisa

Long time since I've seen Blood Brothers. Linda Nolan was Mrs J and I remember the narrator was amazing - can't remember his name though, Mike something

The scenes just played in sequence - no side by side stuff that I remember. The songs will bring tears to your eyes and the ending will make you jump. It's a brilliant piece of theatre

My favorite part would be the kids playing "you shot me you got me and you bloody know you did" etc
