it usually means that this kid can spot talent and may even become a singer or learn to play an intrument you've got to remember some of the greatest rock singers started when they were young.

Why should it matter how old they are, if they like it then thats fine

Your cousin just seems very smart but everyone is different.

I have a 17 who happens to love orchestra, swing, country, rock, r&b, Celtic you name it.......ny kid that can say they like anything out of the norm and not be ashamed or embarrassed by it is more than ok.......Individuality is a great thing!!!!

To very intelligent people 'normality' is actually mediocrity - your cousin sounds 'special' so don't let any limited views on normality get in the way, or cause you to judge him, or make him feel a freak because of it.

Of course it's normal! Every teenager is different and develops different...tastes, if you will, during their maturing years. The fact that your 13 year old cousin enjoys the opera and orchestra music is fantastic and completely normal. It's also very cool that your cousin understands many different languages. Cool, and completely normal. Your cousin has developed his/her own taste and can appreciate the opera as well as orchestra music, and this is great, and all-say it with me!- completely normal! :)
