Help with scene for theater class?

Question:For theater, we have to make a children's story into a regular scene. We chose "Fly Away Home", which is a sad story that my group wanted to make funny.

There is a bird that we made "human-like", and at the end of the story a poor boy is invited to a fancy restaurant. He doesn't have any way to pay the bill, so the bird comes and helps him.

How should the bird help him? I'm stuck. Thanks so much if you can help =]

well..

The boy is at the resturaunt. The window is open and the bird flys in. The waiter asks boy for 17.96. The boy starts to cry. Then the bird goes and takes 20 dollors from a man and carries it over to the boy. he then pays for it.
