Can anyone give me a list of good agents in the Dallas area? Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: My mom agreed to let me get an acting agent if I can do the research and find one. Can anyone give me a list of good agents in the Dallas area? There are several legit agents in Dallas, BUT do you have the training and experience you need to get started? Have you been in acting classes for a while? Have you been in several theatre productions as well as some student and/or indie films? Do you know how to put your experience into proper resume format? Do you have a good photo of yourself to use as a submission headshot? Do you know how to submit to agencies? Make sure you have all the info before you just send them a photo... See if any of them have websites with specific submission guidelines. Otherwise you write a brief submission letter and send your headshot & resume. Then wait to see if they cal you. You NEVER pay a fee upfront to an agent. They get a percentage of your pay AFTER they help you get work. You can also look at sites like these for info on what's filming in your state: http://www.governor.state.tx.us/film http://www.governor.state.tx.us/division... http://www.film-texas.com/Index.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dallasfilm... There are more resources, just search for them. good luck, Marianne The Horne Agency is probably the most well known in Dallas. http://www.thehorneagency.com/ There is also the Kaiser-Matthews agency. The Mary Collins Agency. http://marycollins.com/ The Campbell Agency http://thecampbellagency.com/ There are tons of agencies. Just google them. You should also talk to local actors about getting an agent. Are you in an acting class? If you aren't you should definitely get in one. They are great, not only for learning to act, but also for networking and advice from acting professionals. Good luck! |
