Position:Home>Theater & Acting> How to be an actress?

Question:I want to be an actress and make it big in Hollywood like for example Miley Cyrus (like really desperatly) but I have seriously NOOOO clue at all what to do or how it works. So, i'm 15 years old, live in Europe(but forget the living part for now), and the only acting ive ever done is in theatre class once a week at school and I can act really well, but do i HAVE to get an agent? if yes how do i get one? But i dont want to go through like a whole year of acting school and stuff of the kind. I know i cant get this in a snap of fingers but i mean how do all these 14 and 15 year olds become famous and what they are today? Please give me advice

Talent agencies get 10% of the money you make from the jobs they get you.

If you want to get an agent look some up on google or the phone book and go to their website if they have on.

Then see what their sumbission rules are and submit your work.( resume, cover letter, and headshots preferrly one up close one full body ) Then wait. Always inform your parents :)

Good Luck & God Bless!!

i hate people like you

whell it takes ALOT of luck to make it big in acting

they are famous today because they started out young or their family was/is in the business too. they've done MANY auditions and got parts in either commercials, extras, or small roles in shows. you can't just "make it big" all of a sudden and you can't expect that to happen either. it's extremely difficult because millions of other people have the same dream as you and of course, those millions can't ALL make it big. you have to constantly audition for roles and see if you get callbacks. if you do get a lot of callbacks, move to los angeles, california in the U.S and the chance is higher

well miley just got lucky and shes big! but still u dont have to get and agent but it does help the best way to get an agent is through family and friends ask some of your family memebers if they know any of there friends who have an agent and i can go on and on and u can find your agent....i not sure how people do it but there just luccky...good luck though

You must have missed the ZILLION answers to this obnoxious question that get typed here everyday. Oh, no you didn't! You just IGNORED THEM - all the previous answers, that we post every single day, appear on the page while you were typing in your question. And you ignored them.

Now, about you being obnoxious: Do you realize that you are not a special case? Do you realize that these kids, by and large, have been acting for years? Do you realize that they live or travel to New York and LA regularly to audition? Do you realize that people go to college and spend four years and a great deal of money studying acting and performing arts?

OH MY GOSH!! LOOK AT THE OTHER QUESTIONS!!!!!!! like NYC Director says- this question gets asked a kabillion times a minute!
yes we know you're "talented" and "special" and you "wanna be famous" and you "wanna make it big".... Get over yourself, stop ogling on the computer and actually get out there and DO IT! I've done it and lots of other people have done it
i honestly don't think you people get it... this type of thing doesn't happen over night! it takes months, years, or maybe even DECADES of hard work.

Yes, as the last poster said - decades of hard work. You want it? You have to work for it. And make sacrifices. You say you don't want to "go through like a whole year or acting school and stuff....", my dear, then give up your dream. Because it takes absolute commitment and hard work and sacrifice and discipline to earn a living in this career. The stars are few and far between and the average actor just barely eeks out a living. Most have other jobs to support themselves.

You want advice. You're getting it. Heed it. And do you have to get an agent? Yes. Do think stardom falls out of trees?
