That's probably a good idea. I could also help to take acting lessons.

You may as well send in what you have so far--it won't hurt, but they are unlikely to pick you up.

Act in some plays. Try to get into local commercials. Every time you get an update to the resume, send it out again. Persistence is key.

Take some classes, especially when you don't have any acting jobs going on. That might be the key to getting your next job.

If you have difficulty getting paid acting positions, there are often local volunteer theater groups that would let you in, and many local organizations (like churches, schools, or children's groups), ones that don't specialize in acting, that could always use an extra actor or director.

Just keep trying out for parts and keep volunteering to get your foot in the door. The better you do, the more likely you're going to get your next part. Ask for constructive feedback when you're turned down. Ask for it when you're picked up! Find out what they think you should work on.

You definitly need to get experience. You could start by getting on the stage crew at school or at chuch.... Some communities have community theaters. THere are actually schools where you can go that "specialize" in theater.... In my state they're called "magnet schools for the arts." You might start out backstage or just "go for it" and audition for an on stage part..THe worst thing that could happen is that you aren't picked for a part...but don't let that stop you. Try again ...and again.. and again... Ask why you don't get a part if it happens 5 or 6 times....Take the answer as constructive info and modify your approach if necessary. Take acting lessons. ....but....above all... get involved immediately. The more "conncections/contacts" you make the better. Often it isn't what you know or can do it's WHO you know that makes the difference.

Yes you should join plays first because you never know what might happen
