Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Is it harder in new york or london to be on Broadway?

Question:If you are american?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: If you are american?

If you're American, London would be harder just by virtue of the fact that you are not a citizen and you'd need to deal with working papers and residency and all. Also, the union (British Equity) is not terribly friendly about Americans coming over and taking British jobs. (And vice versa.) It happens, but it is negotiated through the unions. Also - In New York, the theatre center is called "Broadway," as you mention. In London, it is called the "West End."

i think new york would be harder because when someone wants to be famous they always say new york

I agree with the first guy. The world isn't exactly in love with Americans.
I think I'll take my chances.

Well "Broadway" is in New York.

Having worked in both I can say Broadway. The Britts are not Hostile towars Americans,Or at least the Theatre People are not.
Its a More Relaxed Atmosphere.
