Question:Nothing to do with Wicked - this a play, written by Jane Anderson. I have a monologue from it but I need a little help figuring it out. In the monologue where Elizabeth talks about how she gave her mother the Lifesaver, who is she talking to? And since Elizabeth is played by an adult, does her character go back and forth from child to adult during the show? Thank you so much, you have no idea how much I'd appreciate your help!

The monologue is delivered to the audience. Elizabeth speaks a great deal to the audience... she narrates the play to them. Usually a child (no lines) plays the young Elizabeth and an adult plays her grown-up.

That's instantly what I thought it was something about Wicked. lol
