A student with lots of energy is way more memorable than a student who just rattles off the lines without putting much thought into it. Enthusiasm shows, A-that you have a personality, whether it be good or bad and B-that you truly have an interest in your part and that you genuinely feel your role and are able to relate to it. Theater directors look for someone who will be worth their time. For example, you could be extremely talented, but if you're late or unprepared, that majorly counts against you. They also want someone who is confident that they CAN achieve what they want in life. Someone enthusiastic and friendly and well prepared, not a stuttering, clumsy, nasty unprepared person.

well enthusiasm definately makes the part way mor iteresting to were anyone would want to listent to it. but thats al i really know myself im trying to get into the bussiness myself at an early age so i can sit back leter and enjoy the fruits of my labor

1, Gives your performance energy and appeal.
2. Does the actor look the part, can the actor act the part? Is the actor easy to work with? Is he part of the organization?
3. If it is honest in presentation they do. It is one thing they like in acting.
