Melody, it depends on what the requirements or guidelines are for the class..how long should it be?..2 minutes?..5 minutes?..what is the subject matter?..can you write about anything you want? or does it have to be a specific subject?..if you have the freedom to write what you want, then write about something you're very passionate about..like... animals.. or the environment..or peace..you know, that kind of thing..write it..read it.. time it..memorize it..REALLY WELL..and give it all you've got!..don't just stand there and drone on..believe in what your saying..perform it for your family or some of your best (or worst) critics and then go for it!..take breaths in between so you don't sound nervous..relax and breathe..Good Luck ! Try watching some movies (Such as Mean Girls, Finding Nemo, and others!) that have a speech somewhere in the movie. The Benchwarmers has a couple of monolouges in it.

You could write it. Think of the meanest person you've ever encountered and have a conversation with them where they are unable to speak and can only listen. Pretend your talking to a radio audience and make pictures with words. Have a beginning, middle, and conclusion. I say this so you wouldn't lose your audience. Good luck.
