The odd couple?

Question:so I'm doing a scene from the odd couple for my adv. acting class. Me and my partner are both girls and whe are trying to use the script to our strengths. Any suggestions on how we can make it more personal, it is somewhat hard because guys and girls are so different. I'm playing Oscar and we are doing the scene when Felix is whinning about the divorce and they are just deciding what to do and oscar is suggesting that he lives with him, thanks!
