here are audition tips when you have your foot in the door:

generally you'll need:

- a positive attitude brimming with confidence
- a thorough knowledge of the script and character
- willingness to follow direction
- an anecdotal story that somehow relates to the character (only use it if asked or steer conversation in that direction)

and remember, the auditoners are going to be just as nervous as you (even tho they don't look like it)

Something you want to do in the future? Well, you better start preparing now. Get into some classes and start auditioning for everything you can - community theatre, student films, etc. Also go to the library or bookstore and start reading books about the business.

LOOK UP WHEN YOU SPEAK!!!!!!!!

There is no such thing as TV acting. All drama on tv is either soaps which are recorded on video each day or short films that make up sit coms and series. So what you are talking about is being a film actor. All film actors get their basic training in plays,. so get into lots of plays and learn how to act, you do not learn how to act in classes.
