A "call back"?

Question:wut exactly does it mean if i "made call backs" for 2 characters?? (Tony and Mercer in Boy Gets Girl if u've heard of it)

A "call back"simply means that the director hasn't made up his/her mind and wants to see you again,which is a good thing(at least I've always thought of it that way) It means that they're having a hard time making up their minds,but you have an inside track. Go back and kick bootie,Snooks!

usually that means that you are being considered for the two roles,one is larger than the other and the director will also have someone else called back for the two roles. You will read again and the director will cast based upon that reading.

It does not mean you are definitely in. Like Theatre Doc said, they just haven't made up their minds yet. All those called back did a good job at the initial audition. Now they need to get pickier. You need to make strong character choices and hopefully they'll like what you do.
