Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: for drama.
preferably for a female.

There are a lot of emotional monologues in Godspell a lot of them are for the person playing the part of Jesus, but We had a female Jesus in our school production. I think the full version has more female parts (not positive though). Especially towards the end there is A LOT OF EMOTION. Sorry just trying to make it clear. People have been known to cry during this play!!!!

How about something from "the notebook?"

There's the email going around about drink driving, but it's a poem
I guess it could be a monologue...

I went to a party,
And remembered what you said,
You told me not to drink, Mum
So I had a sprite instead.

I felt so proud of myself,
The way you said I would,
That I didn't drink and drive,
Though some friends said I should.

I had made the healthy choice,
And your advice to me was right,
The party finally ended,
And the kids drove out of sight.

I got into my car,
Sure to get home in one piece,
I never knew what was coming, Mum
Something I expected least.

Now I'm lying on the pavement,
And I hear the policeman say,
The kid that caused this wreck was drunk,
Mum, his voice seems far away.

My own blood's all around me,
As I try hard not to cry.
I can hear the paramedic say,
This girl is going to die.

I'm sure the guy had no idea,
While he was flying high,
Because he chose to drink and drive,
Now I would have to die.

So why do people do it, Mum?
Knowing that it ruins lives?
And now the pain is cutting me,
Like a hundred stabbing knives.

Someone should have taught him,
That it's wrong to drink and drive.
Maybe if his parents had,
I'd still be alive.

My breath is getting shorter, Mum
I'm getting really scared.
These are my final moments,
And I'm so unprepared.

I wish that you could hold me Mum
As I lie here and die.
I wish that I could say, "I love you, Mum!"
So I love you and good-bye.

How about something from the "Vagina Monologues"? ALL of them are emotional-however the mood is different for them all. Check out the script on the V-Day site, and good luck to you!

For something more old school, "The Lark" about Joan of Arc has an amazing monologue as she addresss St. Michael.

There is a play called Too Much Punch for Judy.. in which two sisters get drunk..drive home..and the girl driving crashes the car killing her sister..
She has a really emotional moment after that when she is saying about How it shouldnt happen.. and all this stuff... you could make yourself look really sad and even cry if you wanted a really good piece

Tomora from Titus Andronicus- Act I scene I lines 17-something I think. Its very dramtic and good. She's begging her enemy not to kill her first born son.
