Question:Long Story Short- 5 girls in one group, split into a 3 and a 2.
I would like a big serious role, but im ''scared'' to ask for it incase the girls in my group are like- you cant to do that. (they are my friends but byatchy...)

I want to prove that i can do the serious role, but since the 2 main girls want to do it and the rest of the group follows them im screwd! Cuse they will get the best parts!!

What can i do to get a good role and prvoe that i can act serious.?

We cast it oursleves eg/ if i want a main role and so does another girl chances are she'll get it- im soooo confused!!

IF YOU HAVE BEEN IN MY SITUATION OR ARE IN IT NOW-PLEASE HELP ME!!!

(no mean comments- they are innapropriate- only good advice PLEASE!!)

Is there anyway to bring in someone to help you with the casting decisions that is neutral? You can all agree to read for the part that you want and let them decide.

If that is not possible then you need to hope these girls will be fair. But by all means let them know you would like to play the part that you want. You know that they can be unfair so be prepared but if you don't ask then you most likely will feel resentful without even giving them a chance.

Group work like this is difficult. I work with children and they often all want to play the same parts. Luckily I make the casting decisions so they don't have to get into it with each other. But when they do have to make decisions about things together I tell them that I want to see who is working as the best team member and isn't thinking about what they want but what is best for the group as a whole. So as frustrating as it sounds as if it might be you are going to have to bite the bullet and be that best team member. If you get cast in a smaller role play it to the hilt so the next time you guys are making these casting decisions the other girls will think twice about not letting you play that juicy role.

You Should All Get An Equal Chance

Stand Up For Yourself And Say

Hey I Want That Part To

Flip A Coin =D

just be like'' i wana be tht part too''. show them yuor stuff, girl! dont let those bitches get in your way

Welcome to the world of acting. I'm not saying this to be mean. There are a lot of petty, untalented people out there. Especially, in the lower levels. The higher you go professionally the better it gets. But one thing you have to get used to is this: Casting isn't fair. Ever.

Do your best to get the role you are suited for. If you are given a different role, then excel in that. With each role you play, your chances of getting a better role next time increases.

yes its hard. but 3 words : show. some. attitude.
u wont get that role if they want it too w/ out showing them ur serious and wont back down
