No. Singing lessons are not free and if they are, just remember the expression "you get what you pay for" -- I would not trust a free singing lesson teacher to know what he or she is talking about. Dependnig on your area, you should expect to pay between $20 and $50 per hour for a GOOD singing lesson. If you don't know how to sing, you need a VOICE TEACHER; if you do know how to sing but you just need help improving an audition piece, you need a VOCAL COACH. They are not the same thing.

Also to audition on Broadway, you have to be a member of the actors' union, Equity.

Forget it. By the time you are ready to audition, the show will be history. Nothing much free is any good. The closest to free singing lessons is your school chorus.

If you don't sing and your dream is to be on Broadway, then you better sign up for dance classes asap. There are often calls for "dancers who sing", but obviously you have to be really AND still be able to carry a tune.
Singing lessons are not free, sorry. Any teacher who will actually be able to help you will have a good deal of performance experience and training. Email someone at your local universities music department for suggestions. Also, check out the National Associatio of Techers of Singins - www.nats.org
