My suggestion is that you do both if you can, become as knowledgable in both areas as possible. You'll be a more marketable technician if you can do both. If you can only chose one follow what your best in, They are completely different work loads. If you want to do corporate events, a good sound tech is hard to find and priceless, in concerts, the lighting is more of a work load but your more likely to get overhire work, and more work calls if you plan on freelancing. If you look at jobs though they always want someone who has skills in both areas. Good luck, and never forget that with your chosen field you will be a constant student, with technology changing everyday there will always be something to learn.

Audio. It's more versatile.

i'd say lighting theres more options to the job

If you can I'd say do both. However, given your career path, I'd suggest audio. Even if there's no lighting at a corporate event, they'll always need audio.

Most colleges with good technical theatre programs would train you in both. You would not be a lighting major or a sound design major, you would be a Technical Theatre Major.

i think there are less lighting techs than audio. however, the more versitile you are the more employable you become.
