Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Do you believe 'Romeo and Juliet' is a play that tells more about love t

Question:Ooh this is my favourite shakespeare play! It's a difficult question to answer. Obviously the biggest themes are Love, Hated, Violence etc. I believe it equally tells both! As the whole play is about why hate manages to stop love. If this is an essay question, try the link below, you will find it very helpful!

bc love conquered hate and was what ended it all with their deaths

love ~ because that is wht caused their deaths

Of course 'Romeo and Juliet' is more about love than hate! Just because hate is one of the main themes, it doesn't mean that that is the main theme! Love should always win over hate and Romeo and Juliet is proof. Romeo and Juliet still marry even though their families hate each other.

It tells more about love. In Act V, it explains it perfectly...

"See, what a scourge is laid upon your hate,
That heaven finds means to kill your joys with love."

The families lose their kids, and it was done out of love for each other. "All are punished."
