Building confidence is a matter of practice- there are a couple of ways to "seem" confident, but if you don't do it well, people will see right through you.

1. What about the stage frightens you? Not knowing what to do or how to act? Or is it simply the idea of so many people with their eyes trained on you?
If you simply aren't sure what to do on the stage, you need to practice. Find out what songs the band normally sings, and practice facial expressions and movements by yourself, preferably in front of a full length mirror. Once you have an idea of what you need to do on the stage, when you get more comfortable, you can improvise and move how the music moves you.
If you're scared of all the people, there is only one thing to remember, and you have to think about it every time you get up there- the audience came to see you. They're not there to shoot you down or make fun of you. They paid money or made time in their schedule just to see you. They're not against you. Just remember that.

2. Build up your confidence through little things, everyday.
Some people have a hard time ordering food at restaurants- my sister is very shy, and even at the age of 14, my mother and I tend to order food and check out of stores for her.
If this is the case (though you say you have built confidence in the last two years), start *making* yourself do these things. Don't let anyone order your food for you, or pay for your things. Do it yourself, and allow yourself to become comfortable interacting with others. When you realize that there's nothing to be afraid of on a one-on-one basis, you'll realize that the crowd is nothing more a group of people, just wanting to have a good time.

well u can sing to your self in the mirror and practice in front of your close friends .. the smaller the crowd the harder it is .. and when u get shy always think ((fu*k it this only happens once)) .. oh and a few drinks would help ;)
Goog luck

Do you really like the boy, or do you just really want to sing in a band?? If it's the boy, you're just asking for trouble! If you have a legit band interest, try doing other projects and get better and used to the limelight, then see what happens.
