I enjoy Being a Girl -Flower Drum Song
How Lovely to be a woman-Bye Bye Birdie
16 Going on 17- The Sound of Music
Home-Beauty and The Beast
The Simple Joys of Maidenhood- Camelot
On my Own-Les Miserables

Just to name a few...

These are age appropriate song in you range.
Stay away from RENT, Wicked, Hairspray, Sweeny Todd and any other insanely popular musical/musical movie right now because everyone else will sing from those shows. Also don't pick anything by Sondheim or webber because their songs are usually too difficult to learn in time for an audition and most are way too overdone anyways. Find something soon and practice it to death that way you know it backwards and forewards because you never know when nerves will make you forget the words at an audition. Break a Leg!

Singin' in the rain

hairspray is an acual musicial...so do dont stop da beat :D

pick one thats perfect for your range of voice. if its to high your voice will scratch. if its too low it can sound mumbled. Search for Popular Brodway Songs and try some out.

sing defying gravity or the wizard and I from wicked and you can get the piano accompaniment at a piano store good luck =)

Try to pick something age appropriate too. Nothing too mature.....Hopelessly devoted to you....Grease.

These, among countless others, are songs NOT to do:

All I Ask of You- Phantom of the Opera
On My Own- Les Miserables
Music of the Night- Phantom of the Opera
Adelaide's Lament- Guys and Dolls
Over the Rainbow- The Wizard of Oz
I'm Not That Girl- Wicked

These are just to name a few of the most overdone songs out there. Anything from Wicked, Phantom, Rent, Hairspray, or Les Miserables would be a bad idea. In my auditioning experience, if I hear "On My Own" one more time, I'm going to hurl. Not to say that these aren't great songs, but the auditioners will not even want to listen to you after hearing to 200 before you with the same song

Rather than tell you what song to sing, I'm providing a link that can tell you different songs based on the show, your age, experience, and vocal range. This way, you can get more personal results. That site it here: http://www.musicaltheatreaudition.com/sm...

Here is a link from the same site listing the most overdone songs: http://www.musicaltheatreaudition.com/jo...

Here are some tips on musical theatre auditions in general, as well as tips on selecting songs. Monologue help is here too: http://www.musicaltheatreaudition.com/jo...

Hope this helps, and break a leg at your audition
