Erm a broad question you have asked. it depends on what the image is. When im acting sometimes I use an image as a stimulus for my work (If me and my group have to come up with a scene) so for example If I had a still image of a vase or something similar I will use that image by seeing what I identify with it. If the vase is broken It could be representing something bad that happened to his/her life

But more generally speaking still images help actors with there role by generally telling them how to act in the scene, how there feeling or, depending if its revelant to the scene or not like, how the actors perspective changes

Thats what I think anyway. If your asked/have to do somehow based on this just think about what the image portrays, how its represented within the given genre and find reverence between the image and your work

Good luck!
