Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Advice needed for writing a skit presentation?

Question:I'm in college and thought I had left behind group presentations in highschool but it appears not! I have to present a skit to the class, my group is thinking of doing our own version of the show "The View" but on our topic (female body image)... I need tips on how to make this presentation fun and interesting as I find it quite difficult to write a script that is supposed to be 15-20 minutes long. Thanks, I will pick a best answer :)

I think this topic will be a lot of fun, however, the 15-20 minute time frame does present a problem.

I think you'll have a lot more fun with the presentation if you make it a "parody," in some aspects. For instance, cast four women (or men) as the women from the view, and have them study their character. When they know how each woman reacts to different subjects and how the dialogue on the show usually goes, the script will form around the topic.

The best way to go about this... hm...

Write a general script, but leave the funny stuff out. Get all your information and points into the script, and then bring the actors in. When you see how they present the women of the View, the dialogue will fall into place, and you can add the funny bits at this time.

Twas a bit scattered-- Hope I helped!
