Wicked: What's so good about Glinda?

Question:I've never seen the play but I've heard the soundtrack and read the guide to the play and I don't like her at all. She seems shallow, selfish and egotistical and it's clear to see why Fiyero liked Elphie more. But why is she considered to be so good?

That's the whole point of wicked to show you the true side. The wicked isn't the wicked and the good isn't the good. But eventually they both have been changed for the good. She is selfish but because of Elphie, she changed.

becease yes she was selfish and shallow and all but she was also very nice to others, she was sweet and funny. she was also friends with elphie (neat fact the reason why the person who wrote wicked named her elpie becaue the authour who wrote the wizerd of oz name was al frank buem and he put it to gether to make elphaba)
