Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Fun Male/Female Duets?

Question:For my final project for my musical theatre class, we're putting up a showcase/recital. A guy friend and I really want to do a duet together, but want to do something fun, not uber-serious like most male/female duets you find are.

We were originally considering "Housewares Employee" from Evil Dead: the Musical, but can't find the sheet music. Our next option is "Romeo and Juliet" from Reefer Madness. Hopefully those two give you an idea of what style we're looking for. Any suggestions for fun, humorous, male/female musical theatre duets with sheet music available? Thanks!

Anything you can do (Annie get your gun)
Your timeless to me (Hairspray) this may not be a funny song to begin with but can be made by actions
Dogs vs You (Lucky Stiff)
Nice (Lucky Stiff)
Rita's conffession (Lucky Stiff)
The song that goes like this (Spamalot) HILARIOUS!!!
Friendship (Anything goes)

def something from grease !

your the one that i want ?

if you dont no it try and listen to it ,, its awesome !and a fantastic duet as i have had experience !

good luck x

How about Master of the House from Les Mis??
Or the I can do anything you can do better song from Annie get your gun.

ooh something that is really funny to do is the song that goes like this from monty pythons spamalot. its a song with a guy and a girl and they start off all serious and then they get all mad that the song is boring and long and stuff. its great you should really try that. you could do my new philosophy from your a good man charlie brown, that is funny, but its mostly the girl singing. all or nothing from oklahoma is a good duet that isn't sappy, but its not as funny as the song that goes like this. notice me horton from seussical the musical is a good song that might work. people will say we're in love from oklahoma is kind of funny you should check that one out. its a guy and girl who like each other but don't want to admit to it and are telling each other to stop acting like they're in love because people are noticing. hope these helped!

Try "anything you can do" from annie get your gun or even the "old fashioned wedding" song from that show both songs are hysterical, or "sue me" from Guys and Dolls or "brush up your shakespeare" from kiss me kate (its two men but a girl can easily sing a part) or do "money" from the film version of cabaret (liza and joel grey version not the solo version)

In the film version of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (and please don't be alarmed by the title the song is CLEAN!)
Dolly Parton and Burt Reynolds do a fun little duet about how much fun their charterers have being in a secret relationship.
It's a good choice because it's a lesser know song so
1) No one else will want to do it
and
2) Your teacher will pay more attention which can help your grade!

"Sneakin' Around'"
Mona: I like fancy, frilly things
High heeled shoes and diamond rings
Rag time bands and western swingin'
And Sneakin' around with you

Ed Earl: Well I like beer and rodeos
Detective books and dominos
Football games and Cheerios
(Mona: “Cheerios?”)
And sneakin' around with you

Both: Sneakin' around with you
Goin' around or two
Doin' what lovers do
Whenever they're sneakin' around

Mona: I like lots of cash on hand
And dirty jokes about the fuller-brush man

Ed Earl: I like stuff I understand
Like sneakin' around with you
(Mona: “Stuff!”)

Mona: You know, I like a thrill that has no strings

Ed Earl: Friendship that don't ever change

Mona: And laughter from the joy of things

Both: And sneakin' around with you

Both: Sneakin' around with you
Goin' around or two
Doin' what lovers do
Whenever they're sneakin' around

Mona: I like drive-in picture shows
Kissin' long and lovin' slow

Ed Earl: Secret places lovers go
Whenever they're sneakin' around

Mona: Ooh I like the crazy things we try

Ed Earl: And the sexy things we fantasize

Mona: Just makin' out in the broad day light

Both: And sneakin' around with you

Both:
Sneakin' around with you
Keepin' it all brand new
Gettin' the best of you
Whenever we're sneakin' around

Both: Sneakin' around, that's all

Mona: I'm gonna lay down the law

Ed Earl: Watchin' her rise and fall
(Mona: Watch your mouth!!”)
Ed Earl: An' lovin' our sneakin' around

Both: We're just sneakin' around
Aw, we're just sneakin'
