Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Can a person JUST KNOW that they are a great ACTOR even if they never audition o

Question:im not an actress... but i would encourage you to study the great actors and write some points on what you see. when i see a great actor, it is a person who has lost themselves in the role, they are the character as far as im concerned... dont look to the newer actors eg the people who are so obviously hung up on pouting and trying to look appealing.... look at demi moore in ghost, in fact the whole cast of that movie is perfect... watch robert de niro.. dustin hoffman, tom hanks in diff roles..... i do think people can feel they are good at acting only if they lose themselves in a role

No, I hate it when people are like I am WONDERFUL even though I have never acted in my life. Acting is hard, sorry but it is. Most of it seems easy but you have to build. You can't just be great at something if you don't work for it. Even the best actors and actresses have to work on SOMETHING. No, you don't.

You might be great... or you might just think you are. Your first answerer is right. Actors continue to work hard and train long after they've achieved success. Most professional actors still go to class and have a coach who helps them with their scene work for the show that they're on or the film they're shooting. You may or may not have good instincts, but skills have to be honed.

No, but one could prove how foolish and arrogant they are. I would recommend humility and try to learn. However, one might be a good actor or have great potential but will still require experience and direction to eventually become a great actor.

Truth is, when you go for your first audition and see the line of more experienced actors and get passed over because you don't even know the audition process then you would get the needed wake up call. But it isn't until the camera roles and you know your lines and your points and have the chemistry with the cast that you need do you find out whether you are a "great" actor or not.

But if you believe that you have ability and you have the drive and can take a massive amount of rejection and hardship, I say go for it. Just don't expect to be an instant star and don't give up when you find out just how hard it really is.

No. Some people think they will be a great actor because they cry easily when I sad scene comes on or something. You can't know until you try. You may seem to be a good 'actor; but you also have to consider stage fright, being in front of a huge audience, and other things

no. I'm sorry but even if you have been in a couple plays and stolen the show your still not a great actor. Noone can teach you acting, but they can teach you greatness in acting. When you get to a certain point it becomes more about method and really getting into the role. I'm sorry but no. You can be an OK actor but exspecially if you have zero experience you are not a good actor.
