just be you. directors and producers don't like people who ACT like someone else( this sounds wierd i know, but if they are asking you questions about yourself tell them teh truth don't tell them what you think they want to hear) if you are reading a monologue or singing tehn definitely get into your character. but don't add yourself in it yet. when you get the role then you can add things of oyu into the role to make it unique to you.
break a leg

First off, can you sing/dance/act. Because if you can't do one of those, it's going to be extremely hard to get a big part in a Broadway play/musical.

I am confused, does he say he is doing the Wizard of Oz on Broadway and are you auditoning for that show?

I am not sure being Dorothy 4 years in a row for halloween qualifies you as a candidate for a Broadway level show, I would say practice singing whatever material you are going to audition with. Dorothy needs to be one heck of a singer (not just have the outfit) so practice now! They will also want you to read from the script so get acquainted with the story, they will also ask you to dance so brush up your dance skills.

Most people want Judy Garland, so watch the movie and glean all you can but make it your own.

The Wizard of Oz is not being performed on Broadway, the Wiz is coming soon. But to be honest, this sounds a little weird to me. Maybe your question needs rephrasing.
