Position:Home>Theater & Acting> What broadway show should I watch?

Question:I would like a show that has a lot of musical tunes (the actors better sing a lot) and a really easy storyline to follow. It should obviously have some humor to it. However, please do not give me Disney ones like Lion king, little mermaid, beauty and the beast, etc.

Avenue Q
Gypsy {because Patti LuPone is awesome}
Hairspray
Spamalot
Sunday in the Park With George {because Sondheim is awesome and I'm seeing it! =] }
Wicked
Young Frankenstein

Spring Awakening

Wicked
It is excellent!

Curtains.
Sunday in the Park with George (see it - you won't regret it)
Young Frankenstein.

25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
Wicked.
Avenue Q.
Legally Blonde.

these are all excellent shows. the do sing a lot and have a pretty easy story line to follow.

South Pacific is opening for a limited run at the Vivian Beaumont next month. If you'd like more information on this go to http://www.musical-theater-kids.com

I would love to see you follow that one guy's advice that said to check out 25th..Spelling Bee.
Psst. It's not on Broadway anymore.

Young Frankenstein and Wicked sucks. You'll leave disappointed.

Hm. I know you don't want Disney ones, but I think the show for you is Mary Poppins. The focus of the show is totally different from the movie, and it has some amazing spectacle that makes Elphaba's flying look like the middle school work that it is.

Or you can watch Sunday in the Park with George or Gypsy. I hate Patti LuPone, but I love Laura Benanti, so I'm torn as to whether that is a good suggestion or not.
