Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Is 30 to old to start an acting/directing career?

Question:No, it's not impossible, however do keep in mind that if your goal is to be a working actor that it is not unreasonable for it to take about 10 years to get to that point. There are still plenty of roles for 40 year olds, but the liklihood of becoming a big star is about nil.
Just like anything else, do it because you love it. When you're just starting out, don't even think about the career aspect of it. Everything else will fall into place.

No, I think it's better to start older rather than being a child star and being on drugs by the time you are 12...and having a baby by 16...

Careers which blossom have been in the development stages for years, all the 'stuff' for a professional career has been there, lurking just below the surface .... so unless
a person has that behind him, it is
late to take it from the starting line, especially since the formative years for a career are the years spent with one's parental family when one can afford all that time to develop.....when you are in the midst of
making a living, it is a little difficult to start a whole new career, unless
you are independently wealthy
