My Acting name ??

Question:I am pursuing a part time career in acting and i feel like my quote 'normal' name doesn't quite stand out enough ! Being Irish I would like to keep an Irish ring to it.

My full name is Conor Michael Joseph O'Malley

Here are a few names I've been running through:

Conor O'Malley (obviously)
Michael Joseph O'Malley
MJ O'Malley
Mickey O'Malley
Mike O'Malley

Maybe they ALL suck ?? Or maybe you have another suggestion ??

I like Conor O'Malley. Mike, Mickey and MJ are diminutive and tend to indicate a specific type of person.

Would you cast Mickey O'Malley as King Lear?

If you're considering film, you should check the SAG listing to see if someone already uses your name. If they do, you'll have to change yours in order to become a member.

Just call yourself 'O'Malley'!

I do not really see what would be wrong with your name apart from it being a very long one. ;)

I personally would like the sound of your real name. I would definitely keep "Conor" as your first name, because to me (not being Irish), that name stands out. Every second guy around the place is called Michael or Mike. I honestly don′t dig abbreviations... look wannabe-cool-ish - remember AJ from the Backstreet Boys? Yuk. ;)
