If you wanted to make the audience on the edge of their seats you could talk, pretend to see etc. something that they couldnt then whatever it is jump out at them!
i know its a stupid idea but oh well :)

alot of emotion and body language is the key. nice question heres a star*

Change the lighting between the scenes...change it to bright to dim.
Levels...keep it the same.
Sound...have some dramatic and soft music, so you a variety.
Expressions...use anything you want.
Body language...don't slouch, unless your part requires it. Try to act professional but not fake.
