Nope. An actor's style shouldn't even be noticeable. The best acting is when you forget that there is an actor involved at all and you just think that they ARE the character. An actor has to do everything they can to adjust to their role but that means removing themselves from the role.

I don't think so. An actor down't have to change all the time to be interesting, it's just the WAY you act - that's what's important

I do think he or she must change.. people get tired of the way they are...just in life...you have to keep it exciting , thrilling and enjoyable not only for the actor but those watching.. I think a change of scenery is like an actor..make it fun..

Hi Rita,Yes, I think it is very important for a actor to have original material ,and to try varied roles in different plays or films, maybe change his or her accent for parts, But i believe style comes natural to the actor or actress. something the audience can recognise.

A real actor can present a wide range of characters. That's subservient to style or "charisma" or ego. Perhaps that's why so few American film stars can act more than one character? They mostly play the established fantasy of themselves, I reckon. Boring after a movie or two. It may also explain a lot about American culture, and politics.

A actor should be able to embrace and become the character so much so that you can feel exactly what they are at that moment. Change is only required depending on the character they are playing.

A dramatic ballad singer studied under a strict teacher who insisted that he rehearse day after day, month after month the same passage from the same song, without being permitted to go any further. Finally, overwhelmed by frustration and despair, the young man ran off to find another profession. One night, stopping at an inn, he stumbled upon a recitation contest. Having nothing to lose, he entered the competition and, of course, sang the one passage that he knew so well. When he had finished, the sponsor of the contest highly praised his performance. Despite the student's embarrassed objections, the sponsor refused to believe that he had just heard a beginner perform. "Tell me," the sponsor said, "who is your instructor? He must be a great master." The student later became known as the great performer Koshiji."

"everyday life is the way"

I guess not, some actors are the same in every movie they make. I like it when they become the character they are playing instead of making the character into them.

An good actor must make all parts believable, Most actors
long to play various roles, not wanting to be stuck in a mold,
I don't think it has any thing to do with style, They must be a natural in any part they play.

I do not know to what you are referring as style. An actor must create a new character with each role. If not, he is merely reciting lines as himself and not acting at all.

The fact of being an actor, means to me being a liar, make believe. The "so-called" emotions he shows in a movie, are faked, he can't produce emotions at will, from reading a script! He's got to pretend he feels them. Although, he don't change style, he only changes movies but keep the same simulating emotions, the fraudulence, appearance and deceptiveness make belief. We need to be emotional and comply with the movie to either cry, laugh, feel sad, be disappointed, etc...
Thanks.

Rita, I'm sorry I was away from my comp for a long hours; otherwise it would be ME to answer your asking First, since I'm an actor (Ameture).
You left a hole within your question, I'm sorry to mention, that 'actors' do not change constantly their style ( it applies to actress even, I mean any 'perfomer') rather they change the style of 'acting'. But, forunately it's the way of modern age! 30/40 years before, audiences loved their Hero/Heroin to remain same! (so funny to think about the past!) Obviously, the then actors/actresses tried HARD to maintain their own 'style' of acting---er---whether one plays 'fisher man' or 'cab driver' or 'jobless young' or Bishop! Whatever the role was, they remain strict to their own styly(!) including 'hair-style, eyes-blinking, a particular designed dress etc. by which they became popular Huh huh huh! Even when one portrays the role of a police or army guy( you know sure army men's hair-cut?), yet one maintained one long stylished hair!!!! But the time changed. I heard of the legend performer Mr.Omar Sharif, who (to portray an Arabian) stayed long months with them to gather knowledge and customs, behaviour---everything and then he acted the role as HASAAN, so far I remember. Same thing happened to others, who're real actors, they use to mix up with the comunities, from where the role-to-be-acted comes.
So, finally I would say, it's the CHANGE that an actor should bring, is the CHANGE in acting, not his own personal style.
Yet, it's hopeless to see, that due to some 'particular' cine-goers, few 'particular' cine-makers select 'same' actor and play the same role or very similar to the previous one! ( that's why, you/we get Arnold Swaznegger as TERMINATOR always huh huh huh whereas, to me, Arnold is a BIG ACTOR who, I'm sure, could surprise us with his acting ability.

No, because if he changes his style, the audience that attends his acts, will not like the change, and I don't think they will go and see him, again.
