um for character development, pretend that everyone on stage with you has been putting you down the whole time back stage and you are fed up with it! and ok, uhm for the scary voice... be loud, a good technique for a forboding sound is to raise your volume as you near the end of a word or phrase, and yell alot before hand.. not so much that you loose your voice, please no, just so you start to get a raspy quality and draw that out of every syllable you utter.

what i always do to prepare for rolls is to listen to a song that i think my character would most likely love and base them off of it. i had to play this girl girl on time so i just listened to "Barbie girl" for like three days straight. lol

I saw suessical this summer and the general had to be the best character he was just amazing!!! The moment he came out he just had this screaming, commanding, hilarious voice. He walked very funny and always had that angry look on his face. It was absolutely great! Just get out there and hold your shoulders high, shout alot of your words, dont look directly at people like you cant be seen with them, talk down on them or over them. when you hit the horses just bring your arm back way to much and spin as you prepare to hit nad completely miss. that would get some laughs which might work.
Sorry I'm not in the best answer mode tonight!
