Question:I want to audition for a local play...

It'll be my first...

My good friend has been in 2 musicals (which that is what kind of play I am going to be auditioning for) and she is going to audition too.

It's a musical based on islands, and carribean type things. I already have someone to practice singing with , and I've had a little bit of expirance in singing (I've sang at church services) I can sing in front of a large number of people, and I have a good memory so I'm not worried about those kinds of things but my problem is...

Which song should I sing to audition?

I don't want to sing anything too risky, because it's my first time auditioning, but I want to sing something to impress them and make a good first impression.

Does anyone have any ideas?

If you do then please tell me.

Thank you!

Before deciding what song you should sing, I need to know your voice type.

In case you do not know:

1st Sopranos sing very high (highest of all womans parts)

2nd Sopranos sing high, bust not as high as a 1st soprano

Mezzo Sopranos can go either way, lower or higher, usually not as high as a 1st

1st alto is below a Soprano, and can sing the higher section of the lower notes

2nd Alto is the lowest of all the woman vocal parts- they actually sing some high mens parts

Just reply with your voice type and if you want an upbeat or slow song, and I'll try m y best to help you!

Jer~

Sing something that shows you have personality in addition to vocal talent. Skip the ballads and go for something fun.
+ "I Can't Say No" from Oklahoma
+ "I Feel Pretty" from West Side Story
+ "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Out of My Hair" from South Pacific
+ "Getting to Know You" from The King and I
+ "My Favorite Things" from The Sound of Music
+ "It Might As Well Be Spring" from State Fair

Good Luck!

under the sea is a good one for that type of musical
have fun and good luck :)

sing piece of me of me or somethin you already kno lol
