Old Opera: Pirates of Penzance.?

Question:i am in a play of this old opera. and during one of the songs, theres something i dont understand. ill tell you. lyrics for part:
heres your crowbar, and heres your sentiment, take this preserver...
what is a sentiment???????? (sorry if i spelled it wrong)
i know its an object of some sort. but i need to know or i wont have a weapon to get married with impunity. lol

It's crowbar and center bit. Center bit is a carpenter tool you turn on a center to bore holes. I don't think they are used anymore.
