You don't have to have the help of a pro in order to improve your speech and overcome your stuttering! You just need the right information and the dedication to work on your own and practice. Get the book "Self Therapy for the Stutterer" by The Stuttering Foundation of America. It is what helped my family members who couldn't afford or didn't have access to a speech pathologist. One uncle who did found that his therapist used this book in her sessions. Give it a try and see if it works for you. It is not a book to just be read through, though. You have to work through it step by step. Meet other young people who stutter here http://groups.myspace.com/stutteringfoun...

Vocal exercises. Tongue Twisters and just practice reading aloud. That might help.

You can overcome stuttering, but you will need the help of a pro. Stuttering is classified as a speech disorder, so a Speech-Language Pathologist should be able to help you. Acting exercises and tongue twisters will not.

you just need to know your great! be confident and loud on stage! im sure you will do great! :)

As a middle school teacher, I suggest that you take some special speech therapy which would help you learn to control your stuttering...first. You cannot be a successful actress if you are unable to deliver your lines smoothly without interruption. Check your local phone book for speech therapists. They should not be too expensive.
