Grandma Tzietel is a character role. She only appears in one scene, but no worries, everyone remembers and loves her!

She is usually portrayed as elderly and sweet.

Playing her would be a blast!

I hope that helped :)

Grand mad Tzeitel is in only one scene, but she is the reason that scene is there. she besides Tevie or Drumicera is the lead in that scene. it is really hight pitched, or at least I have always seen it high pitched

Not a huge part

Erm, without her a lot of the play wouldn't make sense. I'll let you find out why for yourself, but congratulations on getting such a major part (not in terms of lines but importance)

She's only in that one scene, Tevye's dream. She is often double cast as a villager though, so you might still be in other scenes if that matters. It's a pretty spectacular song (big range) and very dramatic, so it would be a good showcase for you.

She is only in the Fruma Sarah number but it is a great part.

Who cares how big it is? Only an egotist. Look, the man said, "There are no small parts, only small actors." That means that anyone concerned about the size of her role is not a big person, but a small one. Small people never succeed. The actor's job is to make the play better, not the other way around.

Granny has big bazongas but not too big a part.

Grandma Tzeitel may not have the largest role, but she may very well be one of the most important. It is because of her alleged visitation to Tevye that the story's plot changes completely. It's a great part!

However, I do agree with Theatre Doc on this one. It's not the size of the part that matters, it's what an actor is willing to put into their character. You can do a lot with a small part, and it is often the supporting roles that are remembered the most after a performance.

Grandma Tzeitel only gets the one song in Fiddler on the Roof, but it is probably one of the best songs in the show!!! Just take the part and have fun with it!
