Question:I will be auditioning for Man of La Mancha this spring at a community theatre. I am 20 (21 in June) and an extremely strong Bass/Baritone singer. I am curious what I should study up on or go for. I am thinking the Duke, but I don't know. I have seen the movie with Peter O' Toole but not the stage play. Is there anythign special I should knwo for the audition? any advice for this musical in particular?

NOTE: I already know the basic concepts of auditioning, like prepping the voice, reading the play, practice, etc. I want to know if there is anything for this one in particular you think I should go for.

In my memory, it had been a long time since I directed this, the Duke sounds right for your voice which is probably too low for the title role. You don't need anything special, just sing very well.
