It is in Greece but Shakespeare is pretty open, I have seen productions of this show in many different settings all of which work, really this depends on your vision and what your director intends the world of the play to be like. Classically it is done in a city type setting. Read the play it's pretty good, part of a designer's job is to make notes from the script of the requirements needed for staging and to get a feel for the energy from the show, do all the necessary research to create your own vision, meet with your costumer find out what direction they are intending to go.

And if you don't have a director/costumer to meet with because this is for homework, than I strongly suggest rather than typing a question in a forum, you would be better off spending your time online doing your own research.
