Ok. There is a looot to know about the acting industry and I probably don't even know a quarter of it. But I know what it's like to want to do it soooo badly but you just feel caved in because you don't know where to start.
1. The first thing you should do is go to as many film & TV classes as you can that are reputable in your city.
2. Make your resume. List all the theater you've been in, all the training you have, and your interests. (Search google for a sample resume)
3. Find or take a really good picture of yourself.
4. Do some research to find out who the good agencies are in your area. Also check on sex offender's websites to make sure that whoever your interested in as your agent isn't a pedophile. You might want to look at more than one agent as a possibility because rejection is very common in this industry. Don't be disheartened.
5. Send your resume, the picture of yourself, and a very short letter detailing that you are looking for an agent and a little bit about yourself to the agencies that you want to be represented by.
TIPS
- The acting industry is super competitive. You MUST be able to handle rejection even if you are the best actress in the world.
- Don't give up. If you really want it, then it's worth it in the end.
- Be careful. Don't go to any open casting calls that are calling for "Hot teen girls only." Chances are good that they are creepers.

GOOD LUCK!

Auditions for live stage are everywhere

Movies and TV mostly in LA and next in Toronto and NYC

Agents take 10% to 15% of the money they get you.

Transportation is vital in Los Angeles

So is a parent until you are around 17 and even then they still have to sign papers for you.

A work permit is also required.

Right now with the strike there isn't any work at all but later in the year they will be and there is lots of extra work and if you can find it auditions for films.
