Position:Home>Theater & Acting> What is the overall focus of interpretation of the play Lysistrata?

Question:I have misplaced my book so I hope I am talking about the same play.

If so, Lysistrata hates war, as do many women. She convinced her countrywomen to relinquish sex until the men of the village stopped going to war.

As the play goes on, the women are sorely tempted to go back to their husbands and share in natural delights but Ly convinces them to hold.

I hope this is the play you are talking about.

Nancy is right. The play is about how all of the women, led by Lys to not have sex with the men until they stop fighting wars.

it is a fertility ritual in the form of an anti-war sex comedy.
