Ok, so my school did this show last year. The girl who played Dorthy Broke sang "As Long As He Needs Me" from Oliver. The girl who played Peggy sang "All That Jazz" from Chicago. Our Anytime Annie sang "Adelaide's Lament" from Guys and Dolls. I played Maggie Jones, and I sang "Can't Help Lovin Dat Man" From Show Boat, then for call backs, I sang "Children of the Wind" From Rags (Great show, BTW). So, it all depends on the part that you want. And if you have a low range. Dorthy and Maggie both need low voices.

Hmm. I've been doing musicals at my school for the past two years now. For 42nd street I'd recommend something from Chicago. Try this site for help on finding a song for your vocal range: http://www.musicaltheatreaudition.com/sm...

and remember: Just be confidant and do your best. The people judging you WANT you to be amazing. So show them what you've got!
Good luck!
