Position:Home>Theater & Acting> I want to model but...??

Question:Well I was supposed to go to Jon Robert Powers but I heard he's s scam. So I'm not going to go, but I do want to model, not intensly but for fun, once an a while just to see what it's like.

Any advice on where I could go that wouldnt want me to dye my hair or dive into the whole buisness completly?

What I did worked pretty well. I worked for free at first but this is a way for you to get out there....

Do you have any local boutiques? Go in and ask if they do local fashion shows. (I did, and after several turn downs, I met a designer that said yes). This way you get some practice and experience; you can decide if it is really what you want. And you can get your face out there.
Or contact local stores that put print fliers out. Ask where they get their talent from and how to audition to be in their ads.

Oh yes, and you are right JRP is a scam.

In a sense.

Basically... you pay somewhere between 2k-10k for acting/modeling/voice lessons.

The people that they claim attended JRP - well that is what you cannot rely on.

So take it for what it is. If you want to pay 2k for modeling lessons, then it isn't a scam. But if you go believing that you will become a famous model because of them, then yes you are being scammed.

Yes, Roberts is a scam, and if you don't want to put your life and soul then DONT do it, modeling is just not for fun...

You have find yourself a veyr good photographer and take somes good headshots and then diffuse them anywheres yotu get the chance:)
