Question:Hi,
I have an audition for a musical based on "Oliver Twist" on the 4.2 (this monday), now, the songs are NOT the same as in "Oliver!" (it's not even the same language!)
Anyway, I wanted to sing "Food, Glorious Food" for the audition, but I'm not sure about it. I mean, I can sing it really well, but I'm not sure if it's the right style for what the director is looking for (the songs in the musical I'm auditioning for are more modern-sounding, and maybe he'll think that I can only sing in the "oliver!" style).
So, in conclusion, Do you think I should go for the song I picked (because I can really sing it well), or maybe look for a more modern sounding song?

PLEASE answer, I'm so nervous and worried about this!

dont be worried i mean you know you can sing really well so just breathe pick the song thats best for you

goodluck

go ahead

Find a song more fitting to the style. Think of how many people will come and sing that song? Even if you are really good, most people auditioning will be too. You want to stand out from the rest.

If that's what's good for your voice then go with it.
