Absolutly, it would definetly help you at getting a career as an actor. Many actors and actresses went to acting school like Jamie Foxx (a professional singer amd actor) went to a acting school and now he gets millions of dollars everyday. If you know all the tricks and techniques that goes with acting, then you'll be better then all the others who don't know what you know.

Acting school will help you if you have the passion. in my mind i think you should go to a good acting school then go to LA. Who knows there might be a good acting school in LA. but don't worry do something that you really want to do. Graduate and then go to LA and start by doing some background acting (even without pay!), soon (since you would have graduated from a good acting school) you will slowly get higher and higher and get a role in a film!

Remember many people want to become actors. If you don't have a good arts degree then you will not get a chance.
don't worry, if you have the passion to become an actor and you are not doing it for the money and glamor then you will succeed.
good luck for the future!

No. It would help you sharpen your acting skills and discover what your talents are. Acting is about experience and education.
A career depends on how committed you are to your craft.

Nothing can guarantee a career as an actor. Most actors do NOT make a lot of money from acting.

That can really be a very tough choice.

What does the degree cost, in terms of tuition and the time lost that you could have spent making an income? Compare that to how much the degree would to add to your income.

If you have the right talent and the right look, there could be good money for you in commercial work, but you really don't need a degree for that.

If you're absolutely sure that you will pursue acting for the next 20 years, *no matter what*, you'll probably do well by obtaining a degree. Beware that even with a degree, it's an extremely competitive market and there's a good chance you'll go through long periods in which you're not able able to find work.

If you're not absolutely sure about it, though, a degree could be a phenomenal waste of time and money.

On the other hand, you might get a degree in another field that offers a good income and flexibility to work your own hours, allowing you to simultaneously pursue acting opportunities..
