I would go for NY or LA because that is where you are going to find the most jobs. You should start auditioning as soon as possible - remember, you probably won't do well in the beginning and practice makes perfect. The more auditioning experience the better.

Take whatever major puts the most focus on acting and the other things you want to accomplish. Research what they have to offer in NY and LA schools.

Let us know what kind of acting interests you most: Stage? Musicals? Improv? Television? Film? Commercials? Voice? Do you sing or dance? Let us know a little more about your other interests.

There are plenty of excellent acting college programs outside of NY and LA.
