Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Costume for my high school drama club play?

Question:okay so we're kinda in charge of our own costumes we don't have a costume department. My role is that of a high school student who is a bad psychic, always looking to turn a quick buck, it turns out that she is a real psychic. She’s kinda a drama queen and sort of out there, defiantly not stable, but then she is a high school student so nothing like capes and robes and what have you. so if you have any good ideas you can give me the web sites thanks a bunch!

I'd say go with a long flowy skirt or dress. Try to be colorful and include things like scarves, and hoop earrings. It sounds like your character is trying hard to portray the image of being psychic, so go with your first instincts of what a stereotypical psychic looks like. One good idea would be to wear a necklace with a mystical symbol on it or with a small bottle of something hanging off of it. These would be used to convince her customers of her connectedness with otherworldly things. Sandals would be a good idea.

jeans bright print scarf very bold tee shirt i hope this helps :)

Long skirt...faded print/hippie looking. Sandals
A vest with a long sleeve shirt underneath.
A scarf on the head...only wear it like a head band...not like a pirate or a gypsy. Possibly even top it off with glasses.

Think of Sybil Trelawny from the Harry Potter Movies. She is a perfect costume reference.
